Trail Feasibility Study in the Greater Rochester-Grand Mound Area

With the help of Thurston Regional Planning Council (TRPC), Thurston County is launching a study to explore what it would take to establish a shared-use trail connecting Grand Mound, Rochester, and the Chehalis Reservation. We’re reaching out to you to let you know about this project and hear what’s important to you.

Register for the Virtual Public Meeting November 4th

This project is kicking off with a virtual public meeting on November 4th from 6 to 8 pm. This will be an online event via Zoom, and participants must register in advance to attend.  After introductions and a brief presentation, attendees will have the option to break into smaller groups to talk about community destinations, what you value, possible trail routes, and concerns you might have about trails in the area.

Explore the Online Open House

Whether you can make it to the public meeting or not, you can learn more about the project at the online open house. You’ll also have the chance to share your ideas for where you’d like to see a trail and take the community survey to tell us what’s important to you. Be sure to provide your feedback about the future of trails in the greater Rochester-Grand Mound area between now and November 30th. After that, we’ll update the open house with the feedback we heard from the community.

What’s Next?

We’re at the start of this project, and your feedback is important to help guide this process. Stay tuned for more information as we continue moving forward with this project. To learn more, you can check out the project webpage:  www.trpc.org/swtctrail.

This update is going out to everyone who signed up for project notifications through our website or provided their email address through the Main Street Rochester or Grand Mound Transportation Study projects. We’ll be using this method to send out updates about project milestones and events. As always, we welcome your feedback! If you have questions or comments, please reach out to Katrina Van Every at vaneveryk@trpc.org.
