Thank you for your interest in the Thurston Climate Mitigation Plan and for signing up for climate plan updates. We are excited to inform you about progress on developing a strategy for Thurston County, Lacey, Olympia, and Tumwater to reduce local contributions to climate change.

On Thursday, November 5 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm Thurston Regional Planning Council will be holding the 13th Steering Committee meeting for the Thurston Climate Mitigation Plan. Click here to access the Zoom link and meeting agenda

The Steering Committee will be reviewing the results of the draft plan public review period and will discuss how to address comments in the final climate mitigation plan. The Steering Committee will also discuss the draft interlocal agreement between the partnering jurisdictions for Phase 3 implementation work and next steps.

This meeting is open to the public, but is accessible by remote-access only in cooperation with Governor Inslee’s Stay Home – Stay Healthy order. Members of the public are invited to view and listen to the meeting. Public comment is limited to the public comment section of the agenda. Members of the public may also send written comment via email in advance of the meeting to climate@trpc.org; emailed comments will be distributed to Steering Committee members one day prior to the meeting. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we try to find the best ways to enable public participation in this process under the current circumstances.

Instructions for remote access:

When you first access the Zoom website for the meeting you will be prompted to download a small executable file. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the Zoom application. There is no need to have a video camera to participate in the meeting. You also have the option to call by phone into the meeting. The meeting room will be open from 11:40 a.m. on, so feel free to join a little early to test out your settings and get used to the tools. Because Zoom is experiencing a large volume of users, we have found that it’s better if you are calling into the meeting to try calling in 5 - 10 minutes before the meeting start time. If you get a busy signal please keep trying, you will eventually get in. We also encourage people to use audio through their computer speakers if possible, and to wear a headset.

NOTE ON PUBLIC PARTICIPATION VIA ONLINE MEETING:

TRPC reserves the right to limit public participation to the public comment section of the agenda. A participant may be removed from the meeting if they engage in disruptive behavior which may include the following:
