Public review period for the draft Thurston Climate Mitigation Plan ends Friday, Oct. 16th.


PUBLIC COMMENT TCMP Draft Sept 2020


Thurston Regional Planning Council, Thurston County, and the cities of Lacey, Olympia, and Tumwater are working together with the public and key stakeholders to create a framework for reducing local contributions to climate change. After two years of work, the draft Thurston Climate Mitigation Plan was opened for public review on September 17th, 2020. The plan outlines strategies to reduce local carbon pollution from sources like transportation, buildings, solid waste, and land use to help our region build toward a healthier, more livable, and resilient future. 

Last week to comment! There are only a few days left to visit our online Open House and provide your feedback on the draft Thurston Climate Mitigation Plan. The Open House closes Thursday, October 15th, 2020 and the public comment survey ends Friday, October 16th, 2020. Visit www.ThurstonClimatePlan.com to be heard! 

Want to talk to the project team? Don’t forget to register and participate in the final Zoom community meeting on Wednesday, October 14th, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. This event will include a Q & A session with staff to answer your questions about the draft Thurston Climate Mitigation Plan. Click here to register! 

Once registered, a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar will be sent to you. If you can’t attend, a meeting recording will be posted to the Thurston Climate Mitigation Plan website afterward. We will send out notification after the recording has been posted. 

Additionally, comments on the draft plan can be emailed to climate@trpc.org. If you have already reviewed and provided comment invite a friend, family member, or colleague to take a look!
