Traffic Safety

Data Table

Explanation

Washington's 2019 Strategic Highway Safety Plan — known as Target Zero — has a goal of zero deaths and serious injuries from traffic-related accidents by 2030 because there is no level of injury or fatality that is acceptable.

In 2019, the number of fatalities on Thurston County roads dropped to 20. Also in 2019, there were 92 serious injuries and 20 non-motorist fatalities and serious injuries. The combined number of fatalities, serious injuries, and non-motorist fatalities and serious injuries reached its highest level since at least 2005.
