OLYMPIA, Wash. — The Thurston Regional Planning Council (TRPC) will hold an April 17 community forum to discuss ways our region can prepare for and cope with climate change impacts — a practice known as “adaptation.”
The purpose of the evening forum is to spread the word about climate change impacts in the Puget Sound region, as well as to gather adaptation ideas for TRPC’s forthcoming Thurston Climate Adaptation Plan.
The forum will begin with an open house and project overview. Next, the University of Washington Climate Impacts Group will present observed and projected climate change impacts in the Puget Sound Region.
Forum attendees will then have an opportunity to visit information tables to learn more about our region’s climate change risks, ask questions, and suggest adaptation ideas for their household, neighborhood and broader community.
