SERVICE UPDATE - Thursday, Sept. 28 and Friday, Sept. 29, 2023

ROUTE 4 - Due to a construction detour on Highway 507 south of Bucoda, the last bus of the day for Route 4 could be delayed up to 30 minutes going from Bucoda to Centralia.

RIDER NOTICES - AUGUST 29, 2023

ALL ROUTES - There will be no service on Monday, September 4, 2023 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Service will resume at 6:00 am on Tuesday, September 5th.

RIDER NOTICE - JULY 14, 2023

ROUTE 4 - Effective August 14, 2023, several changes are coming to Route 4 in Centralia:

  • buses will no longer stop at the Amtrak Station
  • a new stop will be added in front of the Splash Pad at N. Pearl & W. Hanson
  • a new stop will be added at the Mellen Street Energy Station at the Mellen Street Park & Ride lot
  • and the route through town will be changed to the following: south on N. Pearl, west on Main, south on Yew, west on Mellen to the Mellen Street Energy Station

SERVICE UPDATE - June 23, 2023

ROUTE 2 - Due to paving project on Henderson Blvd., buses will be running a detour. Please expect delays. 

  • Northbound - will continue down Capital Blvd once route completes stop at state offices, all the way to Tumwater square.
  • Southbound - Route will leave Tumwater Square and detour down Capital Blvd to Dennis St and back around to SB state office stop on Israel Rd.

SERVICE UPDATE - March 23, 2023

3:00 pm

ROUTE 2 - A traffic accident at the Deschutes River Bridge on Henderson Blvd. is requiring RT 2 deviation to Capital Blvd and then state offices stop. With Capital Blvd construction in Tumwater, this is resulting in delays of 15-20 minutes, until further notice.

SERVICE UPDATE - March 22, 2023

ROUTE 2 - The Railway is doing road work on tracks near RT 2 Whistle Stop area and is causing delays of 5-15 minutes. Road work is scheduled until 5:00 pm today.

SERVICE UPDATE - February 23, 2023

ROUTE 3 - Route 3 NB detouring onto Trosper Rd exit instead of Deschutes exit due to I-5 traffic due to accident at Exit 104. If traffic continues RT 3 will detour to Tumwater Blvd to Capital Ave.

SERVICE UPDATE - December 7, 2022

ROUTE 3 - Due to road construction along the route, riders should expect delays of around 15 minutes. This will continue through the end of next week (December 16, 2022).

SERVICE UPDATE - November 22, 2022

In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, there will be no service on Thursday, November 24, 2022. Regular service will resume on Friday, November 25, 2022.

SERVICE UPDATE - August 22, 2022

ALL ROUTES :  An accident on I-5 south-bound is causing traffic delays. All Rt routes will be affected and may be delayed by an hour or more. 

SERVICE UPDATE - April 4, 2022

ROUTE 4: SR 507 Both Directions - Trees in the power lines reported on SR 507, in both directions, at milepost 9.0 near the Bucoda south City Limits. Beginning at 7:21 am on April 4, 2022 until further notice.

The plan for now is to have the driver leave Centralia Amtrak, travel to Grand Mound, Tenino, then back to Grand Mound and Centralia. This is going to place route 4 running 10-20 minutes behind.

SERVICE UPDATE - March 31, 2022

HWY 12 Westbound - Service will likely see delays due to a collision reported on US 12 westbound near Denmark Street SW. The roadway is reduced to one lane until further notice. This will directly impact Route 3 and will likely impact transfers on Route 2 and Route 4.

SERVICE UPDATE - March 4, 2022

Effective April 4, 2022 - Route 2: Stop 1 will be moved to the corner of Minnesota Street & Rochester Street. All times will remain the same. Visit the Schedule page to view the change on a map of the route.

SERVICE UPDATE - January 10, 2022

  • Route 4: Detour route due to closure of Highway 507 between Bucoda and Centralia. Bus leaves Bucoda, proceeds to Grand Mound Park and Ride, then the Amtrak Station in Centralia. This detour will be in effect until the highway is reopened on January 13th.

  • Route 4: Cancelled
  • Route 2: PM service cancelled. Route 3 will provide return service to deviation riders.
  • Route 3: Limited service, with deviations to Tenino if needed. Please call customer service for route information and stop pickup times.

Due to rapidly changing road conditions and closures, we ask that riders call customer service (1-253-472-7846) to verify their bus is running and/or to find out about any route detours. 

Connections to outside services are also affected by flooding. Please contact those agencies to verify service.

SERVICE UPDATE - January 6, 2022

Route 4 will is operating on detour due to flooding on Main St. in Centralia. Route 4 is detouring to N Pearl,  to 1st Street and then getting back onto Harrison Ave. We are advising any riders that are getting off/on near the college area to meet us at the Key Bank on S Pearl before we go to Amtrak.

It is likely there will be additional changes to service as river levels rise. Check here for updates.

SERVICE UPDATE - July 5, 2021

In observance on the July 4th holiday, there will be no service on Monday, July 5th. Regular service will resume on Tuesday, July 6th.

SERVICE UPDATE - November 4, 2020

Effective November 4, 2020, due to traffic revisions on Moon Road, Route 3 will access the Chehalis Reservation via Anderson Road to 188th Ave SW. Service stops and times will remain the same.

SERVICE UPDATE - June 4, 2020

Effective June 11, 2020, ruralTRANSIT will resume regular service to the Chehalis Reservation.

NOTICE TO RIDERS - March 18, 2020

ruralTRANSIT is currently running on regular schedules, and will continue to do so as long as we feel we can protect our personnel and riders. In response to the COVID-19 outbreak we have increased our bus cleaning procedures and we ask our riders to please:

  • Not ride if you are sick, help keep everyone safe, and
  • Maintain social distancing of 6 feet
