Explanation Over 457 million tons of goods were estimated to have originated and been shipped in Washington State in 2015. The majority of these goods (approximately 73%) were shipped by truck. By 2040, freight that originates in Washington is projected to increase to 718.5 million tons, with truck travel continuing as the primary means of freight transport.
